q&a
to look beyond the first impression of the object, we were told to look into the deeper physicality of the object for example the colours/imperfections/distinguishing features in which we could possibly use and inspire us further for our graphical representation
does your object look old/dated/cared for?
yes - it's obvious this isn't a brand new piece of glassware as it's dingy with there are a couple of small stains inside, possibly from cigarettes as it looks like an ashtray.
what colour is it?
the glass is translucent so the colour depends on where the object has been set.
are the colours faded?
------
does it have scratches/cuts/marks?
no, it's in perfect condition
dimensions?
top width: 12.2 cm
height: 5cm
bottom width: 7cm
- could work out the volume/weight of the object?
makers mark?
orcoroc - france
distinguishing features?
texture, leaf pattern, (what kind of leaf?) rim of the bowl
properties of the object?
glass - fragile yet sturdy, shiny on the inside, dull on the outside
texture - creates interesting patterns and adds a new dimension to the bowl
